I have access to book the Therapy Room within The Village Centre in Chinnor (postcode OX39 4DH). It's on the High Street and has some parking at the rear of the building. There is parking out the front on the main road as well. Please see link below:
How long a period of counselling lasts will vary from person to person and depend on the issues they are facing. Some people may only want 1 or 2 sessions to enable them to make the changes they want to. If you require longer term counselling, that is also okay.
It may be that there is more than one issue causing you to be stressed and it would be preferable to work on these one at a time.
I personally don't like the idea of agreeing to a number of sessions at the start as things can change. I would prefer to discuss this is the session, to see how you feel and we can go from there.
My aim is to offer an introductory initial assessment within 1-2 weeks, this would be to see if we are a good fit for each other.
If you decide to go ahead with sessions, we will then find a mutually agreed time for your first session. How quickly these can begin will depend on when the mutually agreed time slot s available.
Everything that is said within our online sessions within the virtual counselling room will be kept confidential.
However, there are some exceptions to that. If you are at risk of harm to yourself or others then I would need to let your GP know. I would speak with you first, before doing this.
There are some laws that would require me to break confidentiality and alert the police.
Breaking confidentiality is very rare though.
I work on a one to one basis with adults, aged 18 and over. I am not trained to work with couple, families or young people.
I have seen people asking for a diagnosis however, I am unable to provide this as part of my counselling service. If you're looking for a diagnosis, I would suggest contacting your GP in the first instance.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange a no obligation video call. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging a first session.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
